Slate Blue Sky
When a room is flooded with natural light it gives you the opportunity to be as bold and dramatic as you dare. The classic style of Florence by Kitchen Stori in painted light grey against the stunning simplicity of the Aldana shaker-style door, also by Kitchen Stori, in painted slate blue, accentuated by its narrow frame for a decidedly modern look certainly breaks all boundaries on staying safe. With these ideas in mind, we thought why not go one step further and create a kitchen with not just two work surface colours, but two colours and two different products. The main working surface is a Natural Stone Quartz in Grey Glitter, with the island in Dekton in the stunning colour of Liquid Sky.
An Induction AGA in Dartmouth blue was installed, and to cover all bases, a Bosch combination oven was fitted on the island. An integrated Bosch 70/30 fridge freezer was installed in the main kitchen area, with a built under Bosch fridge fitted in the bar area. A Bosch integrated canopy extractor hood was included, along with a full size integrated dishwasher, 2 internal bins and the all important wine cooler.
The beautiful working over mantle was a must have to compliment the wonderful AGA. The chunky yet elegant mantle shelf is suspended on solid timber painted corbels overlooking the working mantle cupboards. A Silvered Antique Mirror glass splashback behind the AGA ensures the drama of this kitchen continues. The glass fronted wall cupboards are complemented with internal LED lighting and Sensio Solo under cabinet lights. With over 30 wood colours, deciding on a colour for the internals of the glass cabinets was a task in itself, but several changes later, the final answer was Natural Bardolino Oak.
Choosing the right handles is a small but all important decision, and a mix of Kitchen Stori polished chrome cup handles and knobs offers timeless elegance. The decision to have 2 working sinks was an easy decision for this busy family, with the main sink partnered with a Qettle boiling tap complete with filtered water. The rinsing sink in the island is accompanied with a single lever tap in polished chrome.
We had a big kitchen renovation and Neil, Carole and the team made it feel pretty seamless from day one. Very helpful with ideas etc and if there were any issues(only small things!) they were dealt with swiftly. It felt like they really cared about us finding our dream kitchen and it all going smoothly as it possibly could and that’s rare nowadays. Thank you !!!
