Following building work to combine a lounge and downstairs toilet with an extension, resulting in a large open plan family space, we worked with this lovely family to create their dream kitchen.
They wanted a kitchen that was in keeping with the style and period of the house but also had a contemporary twist. They settled on Calcutta in Graphite from Ethos. Calcutta is a classic shaker door featuring a raised centre panel. The matte finish elevates the look, exuding sophistication and charm. The doors are dressed with Hendel and Hendel’s Huxley D-handles and knobs in Dark Brushed Brass.
All work surfaces, upstands and oversized splashback are Dekton Taga XGloss by Cosentino. Inspired by the quartzite of the Taj Mahal, Dekton Taga’s greyish tones with marble and crystalline veins complement the graphite grey doors. Work surface space is plentiful in this design so the island was kept free of appliances and features wide pan drawers, an integrated bin and wine cooler on the business side and seating on the other side, perfect for entertaining! The Belling Cookcentre Induction Range gives multi cooking options and its induction hob helps maintain the clean lines of the work surfaces. The Qettle Original 4 in 1 Boiling Round Spout Tap in Gold replaces the need for a kettle.
One wall is devoted to storage with two matching pantries either side of of dedicated breakfast station. The tall ceiling height lends itself to top boxes with glazing, LED lights and profile cornice. Minimal wall units and open shelving elswhere help to keep this space bright and open.
This special family home works well for both everyday life and entertaining.
